James P. Howell Sr.
HOWELL, JAMES P. SR., 82, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009. He was a retired supervisor for E.I. Dupont Co., a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church, American Legion Highland Post #210, Middletown VFW #1170, Bonnycastle Club, and Daylight Masonic Lodge #760 and an associate member of Transportation Club of Louisville.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Dorothy Newman; children, James P. Howell Jr. (Henrietta) and Karen E. Haygood (Lawton); sister, Louise Hagerman; brother-in-law, Bill Newman (Jean); grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. His funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Thursday. Memorial gifts: his church memorial fund. The family would like to express deep appreciation to the staff of Regis Woods Care and Rehabilitation Center and the VA Hospital.
