Jim Hooten

HOOTEN, JIM, 77, died Friday, June 12, 2009. He was an Army veteran, retired from E.I. Dupont and was a captain of the Screaming Eagle Club.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father; sister; and brother.
Survivors include his wife, Thurmetta Thompson-Hooten; his children, Alleen Hood, Anna Claypool (Robert), Theresa Stone (Phillip), Myra Smiley (William), Wanda Fields, Latrell Webb, Kenneth, Timothy (Angela) and Jimmy Hooten (Diana); stepsons, Kenneth (Melanie) and Terrance Thompson (Beverly); three sisters; one brother; 37 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Hospice and Consultants Blood Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at G.C. Williams Funeral Home, with burial in Green Meadows Cemetery. Visitation is noon Thursday.
