HAYES, JOHNIE WARREN, 84, passed away October 30, 2010.
He was a native of Grayson County, Ky., the son of Edd and Sybol Hayes. He was a 1944 graduate of Caneyville High School, a retired 33-year instrument mechanic for DuPont and a Navy veteran of World War II, where he served 1944-1946 in the Pacific on a submarine chaser as a GM3C.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Helen Lockhart Hayes.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon K. Bott; grandsons, Brandon and Jason Bott (Johna); great-grandchildren, Jessica, Grace, and Brady Bott; brothers, Kenneth, Norbet, G.L. (Mary Jo) and Dewey Hayes (Kathy); and sisters, Alice Willis and Elizabeth Lasley (Everett).
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: 2 - 8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
