Beecher Elijah Smith
BYRDSTOWN--Beecher Elijah Smith, 70, 9780 Faix Rd. Byrdstown, passed
away Friday, July 31, at his residence. He was a retired employee
from Dupont, Louisville, Ky.
He was born Feb. 19, 1939 in Clinton County, Ky. the son of the late
Jamees Douglas Smith and Ruth Norris Smith. He lived most of his
life in Louisville, Ky. He was a member of the Star Point Church of
Christ and a devoted employee of Brown Funeral Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Teresa Lynn
Smith; three sisters, Millie Glass, Martha Tompkins and Mary Walker;
nine brothers, Simmion, Roy, Paul, Abel, James, David, Daniel, Jesse
and Levi Smith.
Surviving relatives include wife, Brenda (Ferrell) Smith, Byrdstown;
daughter, Karen Smith Sherrod, Louisville, Ky.; son, Beecher Elijah
Smith Jr., Bowling Green, Ky.; sister, Eunice Anderson, Byrdstown;
brother, Ernest Smith, Shelbyville, Ky.; three sisters-in-law: Joyce
Smith, Cincinnati, Oh.; Delta Smith, Byrdstown; Claudia Smith,
Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren Carmine, Thomas, Lauren Prinzo;
Blake and Bailey Smith; Jessie Sherrod; three great grandchildren
Gabrial, Sierra and Arilyn Prinzo; nieces, nephews, other family
members and friends.
Funeral services were held Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. from Brown Funeral
Chapel with Bro. Ricky Cross and Bro. Randy Tompkins officiating.
Burial was at Winningham Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carmine
and Thomas Prinzo, Blake, Johnny, Tim and Roy Smith. Honorary
pallbearers were Lauren Prinzo, Bailey Smith and Jessie Sherrod.
Special care was provided by Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown.
